about me
Welcome to my website!
Hi, I'm Jes·sika [jeh-see-ka], but you can call me Sika if you'd like (she/her)! On this webpage you'll get an overview of most of the theatrical components of my life. If you scroll down you'll find a media gallery with videos and photos that showcase of some of my skills.
Here's a few things about me: I am a queer woman, feminist, mother, wife, and artist. I love fully, laugh proudly, and have no shame in who I am.
I have a rad fat body (of which I am very proud of - I am passionate about body diversity and representation in theatre and media).
I have a BFA in Dramatic Arts. I love theatre, and I have a special soft-spot for musical theatre. I have been growing my roots in the theatre scene in YEG since I moved to the Edmonton area in 2019.
Explore, and enjoy! Feel free to contact me with any questions!

training & skills
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, in the dramatic arts. Before receiving this degree I also had a two year intensive program where I earned my drama diploma.
Acting Degree and Diploma
2011 Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dramatic Arts)
2009 Drama Diploma (VPA program)
Music & Vocal Training
I am a versatile singer with a strong belt and large range. E3-D6. I can sing various styles. Throughout my life I have been in various choirs, and band. These experiences taught me how to read music at a basic level. I also self-taught myself to play basic piano and chords. Singing and music have always been a passion of mine. I took two years of a music performance class where we would practice songs for auditions, as part of my degree.
Dance & Movement Training
I have been called a strong mover. In my 2-year training at Keyano, I completed movement courses. These movement courses taught me basic musical theatre dance moves / choreography. I never took dance lessons as a child, but I do have a mind for picturing moving pictures on stage (as I have choreographed 6+ full musicals) - and can do basic musical theatre choreography.
Special or Notable Skills
I can play the piano at a basic level (all basic chords), and when given a piece to practice I can learn more complex pieces. I can do a backbend from standing (but I cannot do a walkover). I took stage combat training in my two year diploma, with Adrian Young. I completed Voice & Speech classes with Douglas Abel; which included learning a range of accents and proper projection. I completed a stage makeup 101 course, which included more complex uses of nose wax and creation of latex prosthetics. I can program and run lights and sound with programs such a QLab. I own a graphic and web design business, which I have used these skills in theatre for making posters, programs, projections, and video ads (the business is called Jessika Digital).
